Exploring Bangkok

We’ve enjoyed exploring in and around Bangkok over the past three days by foot, elephant, boat, taxi and by rail. Here are some of our favourite images from the last few days. Enjoy!

You have the luckiest kids in the world! How many get to ride an elephant and explore this amazing city? I’m very curious about whether they’re enjoying the food. do they like Canadian Thai food and how different is it there?

Thanks Gay! As a parent – I have to say that it is pretty wonderful to see how much Morgan and Artie are enjoying this adventure so far. I’m enjoying seeing things through their eyes. They like about 75% of the food that they try (about the same ratio as in Canada). If I compare Pad Thai here to what we’ve had back in Canada – I would have to say they are pretty close (and I’ve eaten it from three different markets here 🙂

So amazing! Is the elephant a water taxi? …and how much do you tip an experienced “elephant livery,” LOL. The first few days certainly appear unforgettable and we are certain
the best is yet to come! It was great to see your family as you embarked on the journey of your lives. We are definitely keeping posted and wish you all the best for your journey.

That was a tour at an elephant sanctuary – it kind of freaked me out a bit watching the kids go into the water on the elephant 🙂 We are really glad that we got to have dinner with your family before we left – thank you for making that happen – and we are thrilled to have you following us 🙂
